The public consultation days on residential co-ownership are an initiative of the Minister of Justice of Québec in partnership with the Chambre des notaires du Québec. The purpose of this consultation is to build on the work that is currently under way to review the legislation affecting the sale and management of condominiums in response to the many issues in this booming sector. The main goal is to better protect individuals who own a condominium in Québec.

The Co-ownership Advisory Committee will be responsible for conducting this important consultation and submitting its recommendations to the Ministère de la Justice. It is co-chaired by Me Christine Gagnon, notary and co-ownership specialist, and Dr. François Desrosiers, economist, professor and expert in urban and property management. The committee will issue its report in the summer of 2012.
